REMINDER!
Our Swim-A-Thon letter campaign takes
place this Thursday and Friday, June 10th and 11th during regularly
scheduled Dolphin practices. All swimmers are encouraged to
participate in this important team fundraising
activity.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS –
Each Dolphin family will be responsible for bringing 14 postage
stamps and 7 names and addresses of potential donors with their
swimmers to practice on either Thursday, June 10 or Friday, June
11.
The team will provide donation letters, envelopes, and volunteers
to help the swimmers prepare their letters for mailing. The
letter will include information about our Dolphins swim program,
our team Swim-A-Thon goal, and what we are raising funds for.
It will conclude with a donation request.
Swimmers should plan to arrive at
practice 15 minutes early to complete their letter signing,
etc. Our 13-18 year old morning swimmers should plan to do
their addressing after their practice session.
People to consider for your address
list might include: friends, neighbors, aunts and uncles,
grandparents, doctors, dentists, teachers, coaches or instructors,
former Dolphin swimmers, etc. – YOU NEVER KNOW WHO MAY WANT
TO DONATE UNLESS YOU ASK!
Donations will be collected and
families will receive an accounting of contributions that were made
in their name. The team will provide “thank you”
cards to the swimmers so they may mail a personal thank you to
their supporters.
All families are strongly encouraged to participate in the letter
campaign, but may choose to make a personal donation instead.
To reach our event goal of $8,000, we have set a per family goal of
$75.00.
We recognize that these are economically difficult times for many
of us, and hope that this new fundraising format will enable all of
us to request donations from a wider set of friends, relatives, and
businesses than we could with a direct contact. Keep in mind,
if each of our letter recipients were to make a donation of as
little as $10.00, our per family goal of $75.00 would nearly be
met!
See you on deck!
